NEW BLOG

I've started a new blog! It's sort of like a sub-blog to appelflauwte, and it's nothing but a style diary. My goal for this blog is to post every outfit worth photographing - and the other way around, to be motivated to put on something nice every day. So, I'll just say:

lined paper

My notebook (the one I'm supposed to make notes in while at school) is full to the last page. I found that a good reason to photograph some of the drawings I did in it, I thought it might interest you!

new tights

Yay - I loved these 2008 Chanel two-tone tights and now I've found a much (way much, the Chanel ones are like €160) cheaper version at €4!

gothic?

I'm not sure where it comes from, but I've been loving the gothic look lately. Not that you'll see me with black tears on my cheeks and massive amounts of eyeliner and black hair dye anytime soon - I'm not talking about My Chemical Romance' kind of gothic; I'm talking about the haute couture, victorian kind: black and white, lace and tulle, doll-like details (see Emilie Simons video which I posted about earlier), pierrot-tights and such. To illustrate what I mean, here's some examples:

IMAGE SOURCES: WEHEARTIT, SUZY QUE, LIEBEMARLENE, HANNAH AND LANDON
I think what I like best in this style is that it's constantly referring to children's books and fairy tales. Really, I can't remember the last time when a particular clothing style has caused me so much joy. I think it's also suited for me because I just can't pull of the easy Swedish style that bloggers seem to have - you know, put your hair in a bun, wear an oversized holey men's shirt with high-waisted shorts and a pair of studded platform shoes and look breathtakingly fabulous. It takes a little more effort for me than that - if I put on the exact same things I just look like a hobo, so I have to come up with something a way more elaborate. Of course I won't change to full-on Victorian freak right away; but some fragments of it may seep into my wardrobe (like my new weird-cool tights, which I'll post soon after), and I'll continue to search for inspirational people - like Violet Baudelaire.

i wanna be a paperback writer

I'm not feeling very fashion-forward today, and I'm also having some self-image issues about my not being fashionably stick-thin but also not quite feminin (as in: having no boobs). These issues always take only one day, and after that I'm my old self again, so don't worry! So I just wore a boring but pretty pink dress with black tights and dotted socks. That may seem a pretty extravagant outfit for an offday, but what's the use in putting on jeans and a grey tee when you're down and feeling even more dreary and invisible?
Now I have to write a column for school. I've already made up the title; it's "Bitch". So that should be good.

(p.s. the photo is from Saturday, in the museum. Major home décor inspiration! I'm currently saving tons of photos with inspiring rooms and walls, because I'll be moving to Amsterdam next year, or at least that's the plan!)

sunday is a boring day

And, if you're an egocentric person like me, what do you do on a boring Sunday? You dress up like you live in a different time and take tons of photos of yourself.

and this is what I wore
