new header!

The new size of my blog didn't quite fit with the old header, so I finally found some time to make a new one. I'm thinking I should make the old-paper-background a little lighter, though, but on the other hand, I quite like busy designs. Do you like it?

happy birthday zusje!

Today's my sister's birthday. She didn't want any gifts - just money to go shopping! She's even worse than I am! I'm going with her though; we have a grand total of one Primark an one New Look in the Netherlands, so we're going to Rotterdam to shop there.

my sister, in a picture she made herself. She's officially cooler than I am

i wanna be a disko boy

I'm quite good at finding stuff in the back of my closet that I'd forgotten all about for years and suddenly find highly fashionable - like this top, par example:

I found the diadem with feathers at H&M last year, but I thought it too showy. Now feathers are more commonly accepted I might finally start wearing it, as well as the top.

a girl

A red side braid, freckles and cream-colored lace? I like this girl!

i'm feelin' mighty lonesome

I sang Black Coffee, a Julie London song, at the school performance. And, as I said, I wore sequins - loads of them, actually; it's a good thing the dress is so short, or else it would probably have been a glitter overload!

what i wore

It's an old one, but okay -- I'll start putting outfit photos up again as soon as possible!

not a children's movie

I just went to see A Christmas Carol with my father and sister, and it was absolutely great! Pretty scary, though - I'm used to the Muppets version, so the ghosts with disjointed jaws and bearded men withering into skeletons were kind of freaky. It was very, very beautifully made - if movies were paintings, this one would be a Caravaggio. I never understood how such perfect lighting and detail can be made in paint; much less in pixels. Go see it if you can!
I'm a spoiled kid; I'm going to the cinema two days in a row. Tomorrow I'm going to see New Moon, and I'm PSYCHED - yes, I am one of those pathetic Twilight lovers, but in my defense, the books really are good. I've just finished the last one, so I'm in desperate need of more Twilight, and my god isn't Robert Pattinson gorgeous!? Just look:

Okay, he is undead. But hot!

in other news

In other news: I've got a load of new stuff that I'm just dying to share!

Light blue cardigan with beads (H&M)

Shrug, as my sister calls it (Old Navy, thrifted)

Bolero with sequins (Vila)

Military jacket (H&M)

Norway cardigan (thrifted)

Black dress (Vila)

I'm still looking for a really warm coat, one small and one big purse, brogues, super shiny high heels (like, metallic silver or something), and some more, so the shopping isn't over yet!

first and foremost

The new hair!
My first thought after the hairdresser revealed my hair was: MON DIEU IT'S RED.
My second was: But it's kind of pretty.
My third: But it's RED! I'm a REDHEAD!

And, as you can see, I've also cut bangs. I really like it all.

the blogging hiatus

Turns out it wasn't Blogspot's fault. My internet is failing. So that's the reason that I'm not posting anything; it's simply impossible.
I changed my hair and I bought a load of new clothes, but I'll be posting that after my internet is fixed again! And now I'll just watch The Notebook and try to study.

pour me black coffee and i'll come around

Tomorrow's the school performance and I'm singing Black Coffee, an old jazz song that seems to fit perfectly into my bleak mood of the latest weeks. The song is probably in the top-100 Best Songs To Strip To (or so I imagine, if such a list existed) so I'm thinking lots of sequins - I'll bring a camera and have someone take a picture!

Here's the song. I'm not singing it quite as low though, and also with considerately less trumpets (none.)

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

the heist

I am in desperate, desperate need of a major hair-change. What shall I do? Cut it? Add some bangs? Dye it? All of the above? Because now my hair's nothing more than a fluffy bird's nest with weirdly wriggling curls in a nondescript dark blonde/light brown color. Not very appealing.
